HYNT: SINCAL’s water tube boiler

The new range of HYNT water-tube boilers, completely developed by SINCAL, meets the demand for boilers with high steam production capacities, from 30 to 60 Tons/hour and high pressure from 20 bar to 100 bar.
A water-tube boiler is a type of steam boiler in which water circulates in tubes heated externally by the combustion gases. The tubes where the heat exchange takes place, in turn, form the membrane walls of the furnace.
The design of this type of steam boiler is well known and proven in a multitude of applications, from powering small steam trains and stationary steam engines to becoming the heart of thermal power generation plants capable of delivering very significant power outputs. The high capacity of water-tube boilers to generate very high quality steam, or even superheated steam, makes them particularly attractive for applications requiring dry, high-pressure, high-energy steam, including steam turbine power generation.
The quality of the saturated steam is very high due to an adequate surface of the phase separation plane and built-in droplet separators. In the case of superheated steam, the injection of temperature control water is performed in an intermediate superheating stage, thus ensuring the degree of superheating without carryover in the final steam delivery.
The evaporator tube bundle connects the lower water boiler and the upper steam boiler in a compact way allowing to obtain a transportable package boiler assembly fully assembled in the workshop and ready for installation. The boiler can be delivered with independent economizer and/or air preheater to achieve thermal efficiencies higher than 90% with respect to the PCI.

SINCAL HYNT BOILER OPERATION

Water-tube boilers generally consist of four parts:

  • One lower water boiler
  • An upper boiler, where there is a defined water level and a steam chamber.
  • Water pipes that join both boilers and form the tubular bundle.
  • Membraned tube walls forming the outer walls and hearth
  • A superheater, usually in two stages

The water circulates between both boilers by natural convection, rising towards the dome or upper boiler due to its temperature. In the upper part of the upper boiler, there are the different connections for the steam outlet, safety valves, levels, etc.

Next to the firebox is the first evaporator bank, which is made of smooth tubes. In case of superheater, this is placed next, followed by the rest of the evaporator banks, which depending on the type of fuel can be smooth or finned tube.

ADVANTAGES

The boiler is composed of a firebox completely surrounded by water walls of membraned tubes. The absence of refractory in the firebox provides a high heat transfer and the elimination of maintenance for this reason.

SINCAL HYNT biomass steam boilers are equipped with our successful electrical control panel with automaton that allows the boiler to be operated in a simple and reliable way.

Instrumentation and valves

HYNT boilers are equipped with level controls that reach SIL3 level in safety, allowing a magnificent robustness and reliability. They are also equipped with an ABB automaton with touch screen that allows visual, easy and intuitive access to the working conditions of the boiler, modify the working parameters of the boiler or view the activated alarms, among other functions.
