HKR-R

Biomass boilers with fixed grate

Sincal HKR-R boilers are the best option for high steam production with solid fuels in a robust, compact and simple system.

With hundreds of boilers manufactured of this model, they are the most successful Sincal’s bet for biomass combustion.

HKR-R boilers have a fixed air-cooled grate for fuel combustion. This grate is located in a forehearth with large water-cooled walls for optimum combustion.

In the lower area of the boiler’s outer ferrule, heat transfer is carried out by radiation and convection, this being the area where heat transfer is greatest.

After the flue, the gases pass to the boiler hearth and then to the flue gas passages. In both zones, heat transfer is by convection.

Finally, the gases pass into the smoke box and from there are evacuated to the outside through the chimney.

On the flue side, all the exchange surfaces are accessible. This facilitates the cleaning of the boiler and the maintenance of the areas where combustion takes place. On the water side, there are also inspection registers, which allow the condition of the water to be monitored.

Optionally, HKR-R boilers can be supplied with a multi-cyclone gas scrubber to meet the most stringent environmental protection standards.

HKR-R boilers are manufactured according to the German TRD code (Technische Regeln für Dampfkessel) and comply with the European Pressure Equipment Directive and thus have the necessary CE marking.

BOILER PARTS

Pressurized body

The heat exchanger pressure vessel consists of an outer laminated steel ferrule welded to the front and rear tube plates, which in turn are braced to the ferrule by means of bevels.

In the ferrule are arranged the sockets for:

  • Steam output
  • Safety valve(s)
  • Aeration
  • Level electrodes
  • Optical level indicators
  • Water inlet
  • Sludge draining and purging
  • Salt purge
  • Lifting rings

Manholes are incorporated in the ferrule to facilitate inspection of the boiler interior.

The tube bundles are arranged horizontally and run parallel to the combustion furnace.

At the rear there is a gas inlet and flue gas outlet chamber for the heat exchanger.

Combustion furnace

The combustion furnace is located in the lower part of the boiler and serves as its support. It is where the biomass combustion takes place.

It is a long rectangular prism whose walls are water-cooled. All this, plus the exterior insulation with high density wool (120 kg/m3) allows us to maintain a surface temperature around 20/25ºC above the boiler room temperature.

The furnace walls have two doors, one located on the rear face of the boiler and the other on the side to allow and facilitate the maintenance of the grates.

The opening of the doors is done by means of handles, which allows easy and quick operation and facilitates maintenance operations.

In order to properly visualize the movement of the grates and the combustion flame itself, the oven is equipped with two 114 mm diameter peepholes in the front of the oven.

Fixed grill

The boiler has a fixed horizontal air-cooled grate for burning the fuel. All the grate passages are provided with air-cooled supports which ensure that the temperature in the grate is maintained at a constant level thus preventing the formation of slag on the grates. The walls are also air-cooled to ensure a constant combustion temperature even though it is already cooled by the water in the wall itself.

Electrical panel

HKR-R boilers are equipped with our successful electrical control panel with automaton that allows the boiler to be operated in a simple and reliable way.

RELIABLE EQUIPMENT

The HKR-R boilers are equipped with GESTRA® controls as standard, reaching SIL3 level in safety, allowing a magnificent robustness and reliability. They are also equipped with an ABB automaton with touch screen that allows visual, easy and intuitive access to the working conditions of the boiler, modify the working parameters of the boiler or view the activated alarms among other functions.
HKR-R boilers can be equipped with economizer, multi-cyclone, sleeve filter, continuous feeding, indirect monitoring every 24 hours, two pumps, automatic salt purge, etc.
